FRENCH PARTNER LICRA CONTINUES TO ‘NAME AND SHAME’ PLATFORMS HOST DIEUDONNÉ’S ANTISEMITIC CONTENT
Since 2003, our French partner LICRA has relentlessly campaigned to Dieudonné antisemitism.
Openly antisemitic French comedian Dieudonné M’Bala B’Bala received a significant blow to his reach in June this year, as YouTube indefinitely removed his channel from the platform following repeated infringements to their rules and policy.
Get The Troll’s Out French partner LICRA have played a key role in exposing Dieudonné’s antisemitism and repeated instances of Holocaust denial, and have covered him as far back as 2003, when they sued him for a sketch on a public TV show where he used a Nazi gesture and exclaimed “Isra-Heil!”.
Since his removal off YouTube, LICRA have received many antisemitic messages by supporters of Dieudonné, and recently published some of these messages on Twitter. The main tweet has so far received nearly 600 retweets.
In August, Dieudonné was also removed off Facebook and Instagram following relentless campaigning by LICRA to the two major social media channels. International organisations such as the World Jewish Congress have congratulated LICRA for their success. However, despite being banned by several platforms, some companies such as Telegram continue to host Dieudonné’s antisemitic content. LICRA have responded by writing to the Telegram on Twitter and posting images that clearly show the antisemitic content and images that are regularly published on the platform.
LICRA continue to “name and shame” platform which give space for Dieudonné’s hate speech.
